The Clutch Hub is a traditional clutch-based coaster hub design that eliminates all of the problematic elements on ordinary hubs and only keeps the parts that work. The Seeker Pedal was born out of desire and need. Eclat PRO riders like Devon Smillie and Shane Weston asked for a pedal with a larger platform than most, but with a slightly thinner profile. By using regular unsealed bearings you are limited with how thin you can actually make the pedal body without the bearing becoming too small in size, and in return, the axle gets thinner and weaker. To combat this issue we decided to take the battle-proven dual bearing and bushing system that we used in the legendary Surge alloy pedal and apply it to a Nylon fibreglass body. The end result is a pedal body that is not only thinner in profile than any of our other pedals, but also completely flat, without any kind of bump or raised section. Combined with a larger overall surface area, a dual concave design, and a micro-knurled surface – this makes for one of our best feeling and most supportive pedals to date. A larger pedal gives the foot more support, especially on tricks where your feet come off (i.e. tailwhips) and also on hard landings since the load is more spread out and evenly distributed. The Venom peg uses a two-piece steel/plastic design based on the ‘classic sleeve’ system. Our aim was to create a plastic sleeve peg with a diameter similar to a standard steel peg. This lead us down the route of a steel/plastic design with a slim crmo inner peg wrapped in a generous thickness of our specially developed (for the Team Peg) hard wearing nylon compound. When testing the prototypes we saw these pegs going beyond 6 months of hard riding!

When it came to designing the Contra pedal, we were having trouble keeping the pedal profile thin while not sacrificing the strength of the spindle. Instead of taking an ‘off-the-shelf’ spindle, we went and developed our own custom option which uses a smaller caged bearing, but stays thicker closer to the crank arm where you need the strength the most. With removable pins on one side of the pedal, you can keep one side nice and grippy, and one side for grinding on. You can also put the steel pins in after the moulded pins have been worn down to give more life to your pedal. The end result is a super low profile pedal, with an axle built to withstand the force of today’s toughest riding.

Conventional rim tape sometimes doesn’t always cover up spoke holes the entire way, but with éclat’s new extra wide rim tape, the days of pinch flats from sharpened spoke holes are gone. Éclat’s extra wide rim tape was designed to work exclusively with éclat’s Bondi rim but is well suited to any wider 20? rim, constructed of durable rubber with a nylon inner core.
